![]() “$60 is too much” and other comments along those lines. You see people complaining about the price tag of games nowadays. It doesn’t.Īlso, just a side note that’s fairly relevant. Just look at No Man’s Sky if you think initial sales or reviews matter anymore other than trying for a boost on quarterly reports. The initial sales revenue is almost irrelevant. Not to mention all the different ways to continue monetization of these games. Took me 3 clicks and 5min to go from purchase to downloaded and playing. Just make the game better over time and sales will come in. You also don’t need to really distribute and manufacture the games like you needed to back in the day and so the initial sale isn’t as important. Get feedback from the consumers and adjust your development to fit. Meaning you can just release a game at the earliest playable stage and just develop it over time after release. Deadlines and whatnot.Īlmost every modern non-story game (and a lot of story games) is a live service nowadays. Games aren’t released finished anymore because from a business standpoint there is 0 incentive to do so because of how easy it is to push new builds to the consumer… and any developer with a publisher has very little say on release date. No multiplayer game will ever be completely finished on release and with how much games have grown in scope and features that just becomes more obvious than years ago so i personally dont see the world ending issue alot of people make it out to be, simply revisit it in a while if you think its unfinished how does it impact you if you don't like it on release and wait 6 months to buy it compared to it being delayed for 6 months for the same changes or less due to limited feedback? The game is fine for what it is, dont like what you see simply come back to it in a while, pre-ordered and dont like what you see then thats on you for pre-ordering. Keep in mind you cannot work on a game forever you cannot delay a game forever it has to release eventually so id rather see the gameplay being good rather than focus being on chatting, leaderboards, loadouts and the like while gameplay suffers as a result. ![]() Guides: Official Beginners Guide - Steam guides - COH2.ORG guides - Micro Tips & Tricks SeriesĬustom Hotkeys scripts and windowed borderlessĪ fair amount of those are things not promised nor to be expected on release, some are key features yes but the gameplay works as intended and is solid which is the core component and alot of things are not painful to live without for a while.
